Gary Richter led the veterinary pack this year, as he has in the past, impressing our voters with his experience, empathy, and holistic approach to caring for canines. 2012 saw the opening of Richter’s new clinic, Holistic Veterinary Care and Rehabilitation Center (HVC) on Piedmont Ave. in Oakland, which puts “alternative” therapies front and center while not neglecting mainstream treatment options. HVC took top honors in two categories, Best Alternative Medicine Provider, and Best Canine Therapy Facility. Hearty woofs and wags!
