This season has been a difficult one in regards to fleas. We have had many people come to us saying the stuff they usually get just isn’t working this year. Here at Holistic Veterinary Care, we have a product you might not have seen elsewhere. Rather than a liquid topical flea control, we carry a powder, Buck Mountain Parasite Dust.

This dust only contains three main ingredients, so it is not as harsh on the pet itself. As for all those parasites though, that’s another story. Rather than just taking care of fleas or fleas and ticks, Buck Mountain Parasite Dust is also able to rid mammals of flies, lice, mites, spiders, beetles, ants and more! This powder can safely be used on your pet, on their bedding, at home or in the garden.

The best way to use this powder on your pet is to sprinkle it from head to toe and brush it in against the fur. If the animal gets particularly wet or rolls around in the brush outside the powder should be reapplied. As far as how much should be put on, one-two ounces is enough to cover a horse!
